The Light fair International trade show, a real designer challenge to global warming
Global warming, a serious threat to the economic condition and health of not only the present generation but generations-to-come needs an urgent solution. It has been heard now and then that the use of technology and know-how can help in reducing emissions of heat-trapping gases.
The direct impact of emissions will lead to unusually warm weather, rising of ocean temperature, sea-level, glaciers melting and coastal flooding. The Light fair International trade show held in New York on 8 May 2007 seems to offer a way to overcome global warming to an extent. These days light bulb are no more related to open and bright ideas as US lawmakers are raising eyebrows regarding its use as they wish to bann this century-old technology.
The show displayed some of the prospective real alternatives that are seen as a sharp-challenger. The use of colored decorative lamps, illuminated by light-emitting diodes (LED’s), displayed by Winona is a challenge to the rising problem.Â

Wall-mounted LED’s (designer walls) from Boston-based Color Kinetics displayed at the show.

Light emitting diodes illuminate the underside of a hotel bed in the Osram Sylvania exhibition. It is a witty, interesting and beautiful solution
