The talk about upcoming Cape Town fashion week is not new but every time it hits its audience’s heart with a new charm. The charisma of the event resides in revealing new designs, patters and unique textures practiced by the renowned designers. Now in its fifth year, the event has matured swiftly into one of the debut newly-originated fashion weeks, offering a global podium for designers across sub-Saharan Africa.

While the first two-days witnessed the presence of South African designers viz. Deo Sagoe, Stoned Cherrie, Mosa Makuenas, Jenny Le Roux and Craig Jacobs; much was left as unveiled territory. Today I take the opportunity of divulging the beautiful yet sensuous creation by another member of the South African designer family— Kobus Dippenaar.

More than the silhouette, it is the junk accessory including rough stones that was the highlight of the collection. Doing away with the contrast and other matching color-theme, Kobus seem to carve a new design statement by offering the ornaments bearing the same shade as that of outfit.

Honestly saying, it is an elite design with an attitude that makes others aghast for a moment. Can’t say about you but my first impression was this.

While yesterday I made you witness the collection of South African designer Jenny Le Roux at Cape Town fashion week, today I have another feast for you . The second day of the event was more glamorous as the enthusiastic mob including designers from across the globe to admire the collection exhibited by renowned South African artists.

Like every year the models were enthused with fire and the effect was analyzed with overpopulating audience. Here is the creation of South African designer Mosa Makuena at the second day of the event. Vibrant shades like dark pink and turquoise were looking graceful on models.

The theme of the event provides an international platform to designers from across sub-Saharan Africa. For quite a long time, the ramp was also equipped by models displaying creation of the Russian designer Julia Dalakian on 9 August 2007.

Vivacious red and black shades of one-long piece dress by Julia were the highlight of the day. Personally, the burning red color on the model with tight belt-like fabric on the waist is not only beautiful but elite also.

If you want to experience the collection by Stoned Cherrie, a renowned South African Designer, then do click here to admire his stylish collection.

Celebrating its fifth anniversary, the Cape Town Fashion Week is scheduled from 8-11 August 2007 at Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC). Models would be seen flaunting the spring/summer collection by African designers.

Setting a right platform for the African designers, the event is owned and presented by African Fashion International (AFI). Commemorating the new artistic strength of the African designers across the continent, this four day long-event aims at redefining the continent locally and globally, thereby highlighting the opportunities of 21st Century Africa.

Designers exhibiting the 2007-08 Spring/Summer collection at the event include David Tlale, Craig Jacobs, Jenny Le Roux and others. Around 70 designers are expected to make their presence at the event. Guest designers from various African countries will also be participating here to be the fortunate member of the Cape Town fashion week family.

Here is the creation from Habits collection by South African designer Jenny Le Roux. The exclusive collection is simple yet interesting as it respects the defined combination of texture, color and style.

David Tlade theme was also appealing and elite. Basic shades of black, while and grey seem to rule designers’ mind.

This event will shortly be followed by the new Joburg spring/summer fashion week.
